The Dube Birds began the season in fine form, winning three of their first four league encounters. However, they have since endured a slump which has seen them fail to claim a point from their following three matches.

The cup provides a perfect opportunity for Zeca Marques' troops to find their rhythm once more, but they will have to do so without the services of skipper Lefa Tsutsulupa, who remains sidelined by an ankle injury. Tsutsulupa is expected to be joined on the sidelines by winger Tshwarelo Bereng.

Anver Esterhuizen will also be missing for Swallows has he serves the second game of a two-match ban. However, Rudi Isaacs and Luvhengo Mungomeni are available for selection after sitting out for the Free State Stars due to suspension.

Wits beat Swallows 3-0 when the two teams met in the league last month, have enjoyed much better fortune of late and sit third in the Premiership standings, with 13 points from seven matches.

Goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs returned to the fray last time out after being sidelined since preseason and the experienced campaigner is once again expected to take up his position between the posts.

Defender Onismor Bhasera is back in the mix after completing a suspension, but long-term injury absentees Papy Faty and Calvin Kadi remain sidelined.

Kick-off at 20:00.
