Preview: Ajax v Celtic

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town will be hoping to rediscover their early-season form when they welcome Bloemfontein Celtic to the Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The Urban Warriors looked genuine Premiership title contenders at the start of the campaign after going undefeated in their opening six matches, winning four and drawing two to sit in the runners-up position.

However, Roger de Sa has seen a notable slump from his charges, who have won just one of their last five in the top flight, while their most recent outing, against Maritzburg United, ended goalless.

That run of results has still left the Ikamva outfit second in the standings, although they are now just one point clear of a five-way tie for third.

Celtic, meanwhile, are enjoying somewhat of a hot streak, having gone undefeated in their last four Premiership matches, winning three and drawing one to hoist themselves up to eighth following a less than impressive start to the campaign.

In team news, Ajax have no suspension concerns to worry about, although Abbubaker Mobara, Franklin Cale and Tashreeq Morris are one yellow card away each from picking up match bans.

A big boost for the Mother City giants, though, is the return of captain Travis Graham, who missed the draw against the Team of Choice through suspension.

Phunya Sele Sele, meanwhile, have suspension worries of their own, with Bevan Fransman and Bulelani Ndengane ineligible for selection, while Keegan Ritchie and Musa Bilankulu will have to tread lightly, with both on three bookings.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
