AmaZayoni had embarked on a seven-match unbeaten streak prior to the international break, which help propel them into the Absa Premiership's top-eight.

That impressive run included successive wins over Ajax Cape Town, Moroka Swallows and Orlando Pirates, before they held defending Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns to a goalless draw last time out.

But Clive Barker's side were brought back down to earth last weekend with a 2-1 defeat to Polokwane City, which left them in ninth place on 16 points after 11 rounds of action.

The Clever Boys are just one point ahead of their midweek opponents in sixth, having arrested a four-match winless run on Saturday with a 2-0 success over Free State Stars.

Wits had previously played out to a 0-0 draw with Sundowns, before losing to Rise & Shine, SuperSport United and Chippa United going into the recent two-week interval.

The hosts have reported no new injuries or suspensions, although four of their players are walking a disciplinary tightrope.

Captain Sibusiso Vilakazi, defender Buhle Mkhwanazi, midfielder Vincent Pule and winger Dillon Sheppard are all one booking away from incurring a one-match ban.

The visiting Students will be without midfielder Zamuxolo Ngalo, who sits this one out after picking four yellow cards this season.

Defender Siboniso Gumede and midfielder Edwin Gyimah are also in danger of suffering the same fate, with both players sitting on three cautions.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
