Polokwane suffered a first league defeat since October when they were beaten 5-1 at home by University of Pretoria in midweek.

The Limpopo side has claimed eight points from as many home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Ajax Cape Town (away), Moroka Swallows (home) and Orlando Pirates (away).

Rise and Shine are placed ninth on the Absa Premiership log with 21 points from 16 matches.

Maritzburg suffered just their second home defeat this season when they were beaten 2-1 by Mamelodi Sundowns in midweek.

The KwaZulu-Natal team has claimed nine points from seven away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Bidvest Wits (home), Chippa United (away) and Free State Stars (home).

The Team of Choice is placed sixth on the Absa Premiership log with 22 points from 16 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Polokwane and Maritzburg have met in three league matches since 2013/14.

The Team of Choice has an unbeaten record, with two wins and a draw in the sequence.

Polokwane’s only previous home match against United was a 1-1 draw last season.

When the teams met in Pietermaritzburg earlier this season, the Team of Choice claimed a 2-1 home victory.

Kick-off is at 20:15 on Saturday, December 20.
