Polokwane to go shopping

Cape Town - After retaining their PSL status Polokwane City are looking to add three players for the upcoming season.

Kickoff.com are reporting that the Polokwane outift are looking to add Benson Mhlongo, and the Mamelodi Sundowns duo of Tiyani Mabunda and Raymond Monama.

Veteran Mhlongo is out of contract after Platinum Stars decided against renewing his deal while Monama spent some time on loan with the University of Pretoria.

It seems that Polokwane City will face a challenge from AmaTuks who themselves are interested in securing a permanent deal for the Sundowns player Monama.

Patrick Baloyi, City spokesman, refused to be drawn into commenting officially on their transfer targets but did admit ongoing negotiations for other players to join the squad ahead of the new PSL season. Polokwane City seemed to have learnt from their struggles and are looking to bolster their squad significantly in order to steer clear of the relegation spots.

Baloyi refused to name Polokwane's targets as they fear other sides may sneak in and poach the players from under their noses.

City retained their status in the PSL after topping the promotion playoff mini-table by defeating Black Leopards 2-1 on Sunday in Giyani.
