Polokwane face in-form Celtic

Cape Town - Polokwane City will host an in-form Bloemfontein Celtic in an Absa Premiership match at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Polokwane suffered a second loss from their last three league matches when they were beaten 5-0 at Mamelodi Sundowns in midweek.

The Limpopo side has claimed 14 points from 10 home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Bidvest Wits (home), AmaZulu (away) and Free State Stars (home).

Rise and Shine are placed eighth on the Absa Premiership log with 29 points from 22 matches.

Celtic claimed a fourth successive league win when they defeated SuperSport United 1-0 in midweek.

The Bloemfontein side has claimed 14 points from 11 away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are University of Pretoria (home), Mamelodi Sundowns (away) and Maritzburg United (home).

Phunya Sele Sele are placed sixth on the log with 33 points from 22 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Polokwane and Celtic have met in three league matches since 2013/14.

Phunya Sele Sele boast a 100 percent record in the sequence, with three wins from as many games.

Polokwane’s only previous home match against Celtic was a 3-2 defeat in the first half of last season.

When the teams met earlier this season, Phunya Sele Sele claimed an emphatic 5-1 home victory over Rise and Shine.

Kick-off is at 15:30 on Saturday, March 14.
