According to Soccer Laduma, Papic was in Limpopo to finalise a one-year deal with the club shortly after City sacked Boebie Solomons.
After a string of poor results in the PSL, Solomons along with his assistant were given their marching orders by the board of Polokwane City.
Papic resigned from his post as boss of the Chilli Boys shortly after the club announced Mich D'Avray would take on the role as technical director at the Port Elizabeth based club. Reports suggest that Papic fell out with the club's board over the appointment of D'Avray.
“We emphasise that the parties have agreed to part ways mutually due to the club’s commitment to stakeholders to appoint a technical director during this season as part of its bid to be competitive,” said the statement.
It has been reported that Papic will meet with the players tomorrow for the first time before they playing a friendly game.
