Polokwane, Aces target victory

Cape Town - Polokwane City will look to end a losing streak in the Absa Premiership when they host Black Aces at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Polokwane suffered a third successive league defeat when they were beaten 4-1 at new champions Kaizer Chiefs.

The Limpopo side has claimed 18 points from 13 home matches this season.

Their remaining league opponents are Platinum Stars (away) and SuperSport United (home).

Rise and Shine are placed ninth on the Absa Premiership log with 33 points from 27 matches.

Aces recorded just their second league win of 2015 when they defeated Maritzburg United 1-0 at home earlier this month.

The Mpumalanga club has claimed 14 points from 12 away matches this season.

Their remaining league opponents are Chippa United (home) and Free State Stars (away).

AmaZayoni are placed 11th on the Absa Premiership log with 30 points from 26 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Polokwane and Aces have met in three league matches since 2013/14.

Rise and Shine boast a 100 percent record in the sequence, having won all three matches.

Polokwane’s only previous home league match against Aces in the top flight was a 2-1 win in the first half of last season.

When the teams met earlier this season, Rise and Shine claimed a 2-1 away win in Mpumalanga.

Kick-off is at 19:30 on Wednesday, April 29.
