Cape Town – After a convincing performance, Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler reveals that their plan had come to fruition against Chippa United.

Mpho Makola and Sifiso Myeni’s goals in the first half were enough to hand Pirates three points as they beat United 2-0 in their Absa Premiership clash on Tuesday night at the Orlando Stadium.

According to KickOff, Tinkler admits he was hoping for more goals but the Chilli Boys shot-stopper Mbongeni Mzimela pulled off a sterling second half performance.

"We started very, very well and what we had planned actually paid off," Tinkler said.

"I thought we could have won this very, very comfortably today, we had three or four more good chances in the second half.”

This saw Pirates collecting three points and moving in to the second spot on the Absa Premiership standings with Mamelodi Sundowns still having to play their fixture and Bidvest Wits losing to AmaZulu.

The Sea Robbers next three league opponents are Black Aces, Platinum Stars (both home) and Bidvest Wits (away).
