Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is confident his side can win the Absa Premiership title this season after seeing off Ajax Cape Town 3-2 on Wednesday.
The Brazilians edged the Urban Warriors in a thrilling Premiership encounter at the Lucas Moripe Stadium, with Anthony Laffor's last-gasp strike powering the Chloorkop giants to 3-2 victory.
Sundowns had twice led in regulation time through a Teko Modise free-kick and Cecil Lolo's own goal, with Bantu Mzwakali and Nathan Paulse equalising on both occasions for Ajax, before Laffor's winner on 92 minutes.
The result marked only their second win in five league matches, leaving Sundowns seventh in the standings and five points off the pace at the top, but Mosimane was in a supremely confident mood after sinking their title rivals on home soil.
"The boys are fighting for me, the boys are fighting for the club. We are a good team, we can win the league by the way," Mosimane said.
"We have the opportunity to win the league, we are five points behind. We have come back from 13 points, we have come back from 11 points last year, and we reduced it to five.
"We need to work little bit harder, harder on our set-pieces. Last time against Arrows we did well, it's a process and a learning curve. It's very difficult for us and very frustrating for a coach."
Meanwhile, Pitso's charges shift their focus to Jomo Cosmos as they continue to climb their way bay into the top half of the PSL.
Kick-off is on Sunday, September 27 at 15:00.
