Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane believes Eric
Tinkler needs to be given time to prove he is the right man to lead
Orlando Pirates on a full-time basis.
READ: Players must be ready - Pitso.
Tinkler was handed the role in a caretaker capacity last week following the resignation of Vladimir Vermezovic, but began his tenure with defeat after going down to Kaizer Chiefs in the Soweto Derby on Saturday.
The former Pirates assistant will now lead the side out against reigning Premiership champions Sundowns on Wednesday, and his counterpart Mosimane is convinced his former Bafana Bafana team-mate can revive the PSL giant's ailing campaign, provided he's given a chance.
"I saw the first 45 minutes of the Soweto Derby, and Pirates were very good. I wasn't able to watch the entire match because we then had to travel to our game [against Free State Stars]," Mosimane, whose side sit second on the table, told The Sowetan.
"Eric did very well, but you know how it is, we all have to prove ourselves."
Pirates head into this week's Orlando Stadium encounter currently ninth in the top-flight standings, 18 points adrift of Chiefs, who are in action against Platinum Stars 24 hours earlier.
