Pirates still mum on Dolly

Johannesburg - Following recent speculation linking Ajax Cape Town winger Keagan Dolly with a possible move to Orlando Pirates, the Buccaneers’ Administration Officer Floyd Mbele remained silent on the issue.

Both Kaizer Chiefs and Pirates have been strongly rumoured to be chasing the 21-year-old’s signature since the beginning of the off-season period.

Although the Urban Warriors’ head coach Roger de Sa admitted that the two Soweto giants, together with the reigning PSL champions Mamelodi Sundowns, asked over the availability of the player, Mbele told Sport24 in an exclusive interview on Friday that the Nedbank Cup holders have not made any contact with the player or Ajax.

“Pirates haven’t said anything about Keagan Dolly,” said Mbele.

“In fact, at the moment there is nothing we can tell about our targeted players for next season or new signings.

“The announcement regarding the targeted players will be made when we return to the office next week.”

Dolly was rumoured to be heading to his birth place on a swap deal that will see midfielders Aubrey Ngoma and Manti Moholo going to the Mother City-based outfit.

It is believed that Dolly will be allowed to leave for the right price.
