Pirates silent on next coach

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates spokesperson Mickey Modisane has revealed that there have been applications for the position vacated by Vladimir Vermezovic last week.

According to KickOff, Modisane refused to reveal the names of who have applied for the job.

"Yes, there are people who have indicated that they are interested (in the job) but I cannot tell you their names," Modisane said.

"In any case, this is not a priority for us."

Modisane is adamant that Eric Tinkler and the squad are solely focussed on getting maximum points in their final matches before the Christmas and AFCON break.

Eric Tinkler is the caretaker coach and we are focusing on winning our last four remaining matches of the year, nothing else,”

Pirates will look to avoid a third successive PSL defeat when they face Mamelodi Sundowns at Orlando Stadium.

The teams have met once already this season, with Bucs winning 3-0 away thanks to goals from Kermit Erasmus (two) and Lehlohonolo Majoro.

Kick-off is at 19:30 on Wednesday, December 10.
