Pirates rewarded for efforts

Johannesburg - After a grueling first half of the season, Orlando Pirates' players have been rewarded for their efforts with a lengthy break from training over the Christmas period.

The Buccaneers have been very busy so far this term and have already collected the MTN8 title as well as the Telkom Knockout crown, contesting a total of 23 matches in all competitions - the most by any team in the Premiership.

Meanwhile, Pirates' 2-0 league victory over Golden Arrows on Wednesday saw the defending PSL champions continue their recent league resurgence following a shaky start, with the Soweto titans now up to fifth in the standings.

The congested schedule has seen the Bucs technical staff decide to reward their players by giving them time off to spend with their friends and family, with club duties only set to resume on 9 January.

Pirates will retake to the field for the second half of the PSL season on 15 February when they host strugglers Black Leopards at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg.
