Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler underlined the importance of a victory against Polokwane City in the Premiership at the Peter Mokaba Stadium
The Buccaneers will be looking to get back to winning ways having played their last three games without victory, including a disappointing 1-1 draw with Mpumalanga Black Aces at the Orlando Stadium last Friday.
The Bucs faithful have been growing ever frustrated with the team's performances after being humbled 4-1 in the CAF Confederations Cup by Zamalek a fortnight ago and losing to Bloemfontein Celtic in the game before that.
Pirates are desperate to grab a confidence-boosting win against Rise and Shine in midweek in the run up to their CAF Confederation Cup semi-final first leg against Al Ahly in Soweto on Saturday.
"I think a win against Polokwane now is vital. It builds on our confidence. You don't want to be going into a semi-final after a loss," Tinkler told The Sowetan.
"We put Aces under pressure, created chances, got the goal then took the foot off the pedal again. We started to play deep. They started to get more space and then to create more opportunities.
"With the chances we created in the second half we're disappointed to get the one point because I believe we deserved a lot more than that."
