Johannesburg - Orlando Pirates' medical team revealed that defender Happy Jele’s forced substitution against Maritzburg United was due to a hamstring injury.
Pirates' official website reports that the lanky fullback will be sent for scans on Wednesday in order to determine the seriousness of the injury.
The club medical team said his substitution was forced “because he just could not carry on and we had to take precautionary measures so that he could not aggravate it.
“During first or initial prognosis, we discovered that it was just a hamstring injury, but he will go for further tests,” the medical team said.
Helder Pelembe came off the bench to score the only goal of the game as Pirates won 1-0 at Orlando Pirates to climb up to fourth place on the PSL table.
