Orlando Pirates racked up a second successive league victory when they defeated Polokwane City 3-0 away from home in their last league outing but now face a much stiffer task when they take on Gavin Hunt's Wits side.

The Soweto giants have yet to win at home this season with one point from a possible six. Their next three league opponents are Chippa United (away), Free State Stars (home) and Black Aces (away).

Vladimir Vermezovic's side are currently occupying fifth spot on the PSL log with eight points from five matches.

The Clever Boys have fared slightly better in the league so far and find themselves third on the log after five matches. They have two more league points than Pirates and will be looking to go further ahead after this fixture.

Wits racked up their third league win of the season when they defeated Moroka Swallows 3-0 in their last outing. The Johannesburg side has claimed three points from a possible six on the road thus far.

Wits' next three league opponents are AmaZulu (home), Mamelodi Sundowns (away) and Polokwane City (home).

In head-to-head stats, Pirates and Wits have met in 57 league matches since 1985. The Buccaneers have 24 wins compared to 12 for the Clever Boys, while 21 matches have been drawn. Pirates have won 13 of their 28 home matches against Wits down the years, suffering five defeats in the process.

Last season Orlando Pirates took four points off Gavin Hunt's side, winning 2-1 at home before playing to a goalless draw in the return match.

Kick-off is at 20:15 on Saturday.
