Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba was forced to replace Orlando Pirates' Phungwayo during AFCON 2015 after the left back suffered a knee injury.

However, caretaker coach Eric Tinkler has now revealed that the defender is "doing very well" with the injury not at as bad as originally reported.

"As of now even Patrick Phungwayo, who was reportedly injured, is doing very well,” said Tinkler.

“The injury doesn't seem as bad as it was firstly reported.

“As for the other players, they are all fine and ready to go for the second round starting with AmaZulu.”

Pirates are up against Usuthu on Wednesday, February 11 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium as the PSL restumes after the AFCON 2015 enforced break.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
