Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Elias Pelembe will be back to face Platinum
Stars in the Telkom Knockout Challenge at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Sunday.
According to the Kickoff.com website, Downs manager Pitso Mosimane only wanted to give the Mozambican international a break to recharge his batteries, and reassured fans that he would be available for selection on Sunday.
“It was important that we give other people a chance," Mosimane said. "Pelembe has not been playing well and needed a chance to take a break.
"Pelembe has been playing lot of games with the national team, going around everywhere and travelling, and needed a break before the game against Platinum Stars in the Telkom Cup.”
'Jingles' insists goalkeeper Dennis Onyango, who got a chance against Aces in the absence of Kennedy Mweene due to injury, did not disappoint.
"He was good, safe and composed,” Mosimane said. "It’s good for the competition.”
