Paulse remains positive

Cape Town - Veteran Ajax Cape Town forward Nathan Paulse believes that squad depth cost the Urban Warriors closer to the end of the PSL break.

According to KickOff, the 32-year-old says injuries to players also hurt the Ikamva club as they were comfortably sitting in second place on the PSL standings.

“We haven’t got the biggest or most experienced squad, so we have to make-do with what we have,” said Paulse.

“If you have injuries to three or four players, it hurts the team.”

But with a young squad and having to relinquish second spot, the Urban Warriors find themselves stationed fifth on the log and Paulse sees optimism in that.

“Instead of seeing it as a bad thing that we were number two and now we’re number five, I think a positive frame of mind would be to attack this next half of the season with the same energy we had at the beginning of the season.”

Ajax will welcome Polokwane City to Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday, February 11 when the PSL resumes.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
