Cape Town - Bernard Parker has backed his Kaizer Chiefs teammate Siphelele Mthembu to rediscover the form that earned him a move to the club in 2014.
Mthembu, 27, struggled for regular first-team minutes under coach Stuart Baxter last season, making just 16 appearances and scoring one goal in the process.
It was a disappointing campaign for the Melmoth-born frontman as he had enjoyed a highly successful season prior to signing for Amakhosi, bagging 10 goals and seven assists for Platinum Stars.
However, Parker believes that Mthembu has the potential to become a club legend in the coming years.
"I speak to Siphelele a lot because I believe in him," Parker told Soccer Laduma.
"He has got the power, the physique and the technique. I believe that he can become a Kaizer Chiefs great.
He added: "I was telling him do what comes to your mind. You don't have to think what the coach said all the time. Don't have clouds in your head and just play your game because that's what you are here for."
