Papic calls for support

Giyani - Black Leopards coach Kosta Papic has urged supporters to go to the stadium in numbers when they take on Milano United on Sunday afternoon.

Lidoda duvha and United will square off in the PSL promotion play-offs at the Giyani stadium in Limpopo.

"I hope the supporters will come out in numbers," said Papic.

"It will be easier for us with them rallying behind us.
"We will do our best and try to please them because it is our duty to do so.

"I hope our players will deliver exactly what we need on the day.

The Serbian coach also dismissed speculation that hot weather conditions in Limpopo would work in his team's favour as United players are used to the cooler climate of the Cape.

The former Orlando Pirates mentor concluded that they depend on their style of play instead.

"Weather conditions won't be our advantage, I don't think so.

"Our advantage will be on how we approach the game.

"We are just going to play our own style of football, that's the most important thing.

"I believe our players will do just that and if they stick to that we can win the match."

A major blow to the team from Venda will be the unavailability of their striker and NFD top goal scorer, David Zulu, due to an injury.

"Unfortunately David (Zulu) won't be available.

"He is out injured.

"His injury will be a bit longer than we have expected it to be," added Papic.

United are coming off the back of a goalless draw against Polokwane City at the Athlone stadium in midweek.

The team which tops the mini-league following the conclusion of all the playoff matches will capture the last spot in next season's PSL.

Kickoff for Sunday's encounter is scheduled for 15:00.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
