Cape Town - The Premier Soccer League (PSL) is upset at sport minister Fikile Mbalula after his scathing attack on Bafana Bafana.
Mbalula lashed out at Bafana after they were knocked in the group stages of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) earlier this month.
"What I saw there was not a problem of coaching, it was a bunch of losers, who don't have any respect for this country and don't have any respect for anybody," Mbalula was quoted as saying.
According to Friday's Cape Times, a strong delegation from the PSL, including chairperson Irvin Khoza, Kaizer Motaung and John Comitis, met ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe and three of the ruling party's executive members to discuss Mbalula's comments and also the issues surrounding the release of Bafana players for the tournament.
The PSL's top brass are upset and feel that they were also portrayed in a bad light by the minister's comments.
