Cape Town – The Premier Soccer League confirmed that documents for AmaZulu’s proposed purchase of Mpumalanga Black Aces has been received.
Last week Sport24 spoke exclusively to PSL CEO, Brand de Villiers, who denied knowledge of a deal between AmaZulu and Aces over the acquisition of PSL rights ahead of the 2015/16 league season.
"I don’t know about the deal. The league hasn’t been requested to consider any transactions," De Villiers told Sport24.
It is reported that Usuthu's offer is worth R82m in order to reclaim their PSL status following their relegation.
According to KickOff, the League confirmed that documents have been tabled for a transfer to happen and De Villiers says that there is a procedure before a final decision is made.
“We have received the application for change of ownership from the two clubs,” said De Villiers.
“In terms of our procedure, we have to evaluate the application and see if it complies with our rules and regulations and take it to the executive committee for a decision.”
