Today the PSL conducted a draw at the league’s headquarters in Parktown to finalise the fixture list for the 2013/14 season.
The draw was made shortly after PSL chairman, Irvin Khoza, announced Brand de Villiers as the new CEO of the South African football league, expected to take on his new role on July 2.
PSL champions, Kaizer Chiefs, will begin the defence of their Absa Premiership title with an away game against whichever team wins the PSL Promotion/Relegation Play-offs.
Orlando Pirates host AmaZulu in the first game of their league campaign, travelling to Ajax Cape Town in week two.
Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns will make the trip to Bloemfontein Celtic in their first league encounter.
Other opening day fixtures include SuperSport United v Free State Stars, Golden Arrows v Ajax Cape Town, Platinum Stars v Wits, Moroka Swallows v University of Pretoria, and Maritzburg will play the winner of the NFD.
