PSL calm fixture fears

Johannesburg - The PSL are confident of avoiding the same fixture nightmare they suffered last season after being handed the various CAF competition dates in advance.

According to the football411 website, the Premiership came under plenty of criticism last term after numerous domestic matches were forced to be postponed to accommodate teams playing the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cup.

However, PSL general manager Derek Blanckensee says he is confident they can steer clear of any repeat in 2014/15, thanks to African football's governing body providing them with an early timetable.

"I suppose planning is the trick. The difficulty we have had sometimes in the past is not getting dates well in advance," the GM said.

"This time around fortunately they have released them ahead of time and we are able to plan for it.

"We are going to change these dates up front instead of what we did last season, which was to change them as we found out.

"It's quite a challenge, but we know how to do it. We will use midweek dates where we can."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
