Johannesburg - The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has announced provisional dates for the up-coming promotion playoffs.
According to Kickoff's website, the Promotion playoffs are scheduled to take place on May 29.
The date is pending the timely completion of various disciplinary committee hearings relating to incomplete National First
Division (NFD) fixtures at the beginning of the season.
The promotion playoffs will feature a PSL team that finishes 15th on the log, currently occupied by Chippa United,
and the teams that finish second and third respectively on the NFD log.
Unlike in England where the promotional playoffs to the Premier League are determined via a knockout format, the PSL promotional playoffs are played in a league format, with each of the three teams playing each other on a home and away basis.Thanda Royal Zulu currently lie in second place on the NFD log, ahead
of Santos on goal difference. Both teams trail leaders, Black Aces by a
solitary point with the final round of fixtures due to be played this weekend.
Chippa United gained promotion to this season's PSL via the promotional playoffs last season.
The PSL will make a further announcement on the playoffs as soon as all prior processes have completed their course.
