PE gets MTN8 final nod

Cape Town - The PSL has confirmed that the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth will host the 2015/16 MTN8 final.

The final between Ajax Cape Town and Kaizer Chiefs will be played on September 19.

The PSL Organising Committee also confirmed that ticket prices will be R80 (for West Stand) and R40 (for the rest of the stadium).

“We are pleased to announce that the Nelson Mandela Bay will host this year’s MTN8 final," PSL CEO, Brand de Villiers said.

"There were a number of factors that influenced this decision including the response we got from the people of the Eastern Cape when we staged a Cup final there a few months ago.”

Last year, MTN8 final tickets were sold out in less than three hours.

De Villiers said he is hoping that fans from all corners of the country will once again purchase their tickets early.

“We have seen some impressive numbers in this year’s MTN8 competition when it comes to crowd attendance and we are anticipating another big turnout at the Nelson Mandela Bay on Saturday, 19 September 2015.”

The MTN8 final will kick-off at 15:00 on Saturday, September 19.

*Tickets will be on sale at Computicket and Shoprite checkers while the PSL will advise on the availability of tickets in due course.
