Cape Town - Ntsikelelo Nyauza is impressed with Orlando Pirates’ defensive form after their tough 1-0 away win in the CAF Confederation Cup against AC Leopards.
Nyauza slotted in at right-back on the day and despite tough conditions and being on the back foot for much of the game the back four held tight.
“It was tough, it was tough,” Nyauza told Sport24 in a relieved manner.
“The pitch was not in good condition, it was hard.”
“I was playing right-back and Happy at centre-back, these past few games have been like that – the defence is tight!”
Nyauza has been very impressive of late which has seen him receive a number of Bafana Bafana call-ups from Shakes Mashaba.
Unfortunately he was withdrawn from the national team that is set to play against Mauritius this weekend due to a packed club schedule.
The 25-year-old defender’s concentration is purely on the CAF Confederation Cup as Pirates gear up to play Zamalek of Egypt next Saturday.
“I’ve watched Zamalek a little bit but I’m not too sure about their style of play, but I’m sure we’ll watch their videos as a team,” Nyauza concluded.
