Nzama praises Shabba on new role

Cape Town - Former Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs player, Cyril Nzama, says the club made a wise choice in selecting Siphiwe Tshabalala as captain.

Nzama tells Sport24 that he believes in what the midfielder has to offer in this upcoming season.

“He is a very talented player. It’s just a matter of time for him to warm up to the position,” Nzama said.

“The other teammates need to also step in to make his job easier. As a captain you can’t do the job alone.

The 41-year-old hopes the Amakhosi players comes together in making his role easier throughout the upcoming season.

“Siphiwe is definitely a good choice. He will definitely do great things with the team. It’s a new role but he has been there from student days.

“As long as the rest of the team comes together, he will be able to flourish in his new role.”

'Shabba' will lead out Amakhosi as the club's official captain on Saturday, August 1 against Orlando Pirates in the Carling Black Label Cup.
