Norodien: I just want to provide for the team

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town player Riyaad Norodien says that he will focus on teamwork and less about being an individual this season.

Norodien admits he looks forward to this season as it is his first full season and aims to provide for the team and avoid any injuries.

“No one actually knew me because I was a new rising player, so I caught everybody by surprise,” said Norodien at the press conference in Cape Town ahead of their clash against Maritzburg United on Saturday, August 22.

“But this season I’m more focused on teamwork than the individual, like the coach told me; ‘don’t worry about your individual play, and worry more about the teamwork.’

“So yeah, I’m putting that in during training, and the rest will come.

“As this is my first full season, I’m looking forward to it and my goals are just providing for the team, and being a regular player, and not being injured."

Kick-off is at 20:15.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
