According to Stars’ website, Saintfiet confirmed that at least four players have been released for international duty but remains adamant that his side cannot afford to lose momentum as he prepares them for friendly games against NFD sides.

“During the break we will not be resting,” said the Belgian.

“The guys will only take two days off and we will get back to work. We have had a fair start to the season and we can do better. In order for us to improve we will have to keep working.”

“Over the weekend we will be playing two friendly matches against National First Division sides Maluti FET and African Warriors.”

“This we will use to prepare for the next PSL match against Ajax Cape Town,” concludes Sainfiet.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
