No offers for Mashamaite

Cape Town - On July 1, the PSL Player of the Year will be a free agent with no formal offers coming in says the player's agent.

The Citizen reports that there have been no formal offers for Tefu Mashamaite.

The 30-year-old defender enjoyed his best ever season leading the Glamour Boys to a league and cup double but then came the shock that the star failed to agree new terms with the Soweto giants.

While the club hinted at greedy players saying Chiefs would not be "held to ransom" during negotiations. At the time, Mashamaite's representative, Jazzman Mahlakgane, insisted his client's wage requests were fair and "reasonable".

Mashamaite has been widely tipped to join Mamelodi Sundowns when he becomes a free agent on July 1 but Mahlakgane has revealed that won't be case.

Mahlakgane says Sundowns have made no formal offer as he continues his hard work of finding Mashamaite a club for next season.

The Amakhosi defender walked away with the 2014/15 Footballer of the Season, Absa Premiership Player’s Player of the Season and the Absa Premiership Defender of the Season. He won a total prize money of R450 000.
