Scans clear Musona

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs fans will be breathing a sigh of relief after it was confirmed that striker Knowledge Musona's injury is not serious.

According to the Football411.com website, the Zimbabwean international was forced off during the first half of his side's CAF Champions League clash with AS Vita on Saturday and there were fears that he had suffered ligament damage to his ankle.

However, scans conducted on Monday have revealed that this is not the case.

"Knowledge has no ligament tear and we will continue to monitor his pain level during the course of the week," Chiefs said in a statement.

Reyaad Pieterse also picked up a knock in the clash, with the goalkeeper injuring his eye when he collided with the goalpost.

Luckily for Amakhosi, the news on the 22-year-old is also positive.

"No fracture was found on Reyaad, we have to wait for the swelling to subside so that he can open his eye again," the club's medical team confirmed.
