Cape Town – Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has confirmed that Itumeleng Khune will not make the match day squad for the Soweto Derby.

According to Soccer Laduma, Baxter admits that playing Khune while Brilliant Khuzwayo is in such fantastic form, would be difficult.

“Itu will be selectable in a week or 10 days, but do I select him when Brilliant is playing like this? That’s another thing,” said Baxter.

“Where does he get his game practice because we don’t have anywhere for him to play?

“I need to organise friendly games for our reserves so he can get a bit of game time.

“Obviously a fit Itu would also be an asset for the AFCON.”

Amakhosi and Orlando Pirates go head-to-head on Saturday, December 6.

Kick-off is at 15:30.
