Orlando Pirates striker Benni McCarthy and teammate Moeneeb Josephs have been excluded from the travelling squad that will face AmaZulu in a crucial league game at the Moses Mabhida Stadium tonight (Wednesday).
The two players, who were part of the Bucs team that played against University of Pretoria last weekend, are unavailable for the game against a resurgent Usuthu outfit.
According to the club’s official website, McCarthy has flown to Spain to attend to personal matters, while Josephs has been dropped for Brighton Mhlongo in Pirates’ 18-man match day squad.
“Meanwhile, the technical team has opted to exclude Benni McCarthy and goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs from the squad. McCarthy has jetted off to Spain to attend to personal matters, while Josephs has been replaced by young goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo as cover to Senzo Meyiwa,” Bucs' official website revealed.
Zimbabwean striker Takesure Chinyama has replaced McCarthy in Roger de Sa’s squad.
