The former Bafana Bafana mentor revealed this as members of the media gathered in what was a unique press conference hosted inside a five-a-side pitch at club sponsor Kappa's flagship store in Woodmead, Johannesburg.
Popularly known as ‘GI', the eloquent coach said: "We are far too many points behind (leaders Kaizer Chiefs) and we have to be realistic about the fact that this needs to be corrected."
The former Moroka Swallows coach went on to shower praise on his two new goal poachers.
"I couldn't have been more happier with the two signings, Brockie reminds me of a young George Koumatarakis with his aerial power.
"Nkhatha is one of the top strikers in this country, there is no reason why we should not call him a superstar.
"I know he will score a lot of goals for us," he said of the former Black Leopards and Free State Star player.
Igesund was also full of praise for SuperSport United CEO Stanley Matthews, saying: "Working with Stan is absolutely great, he is a world-class CEO.
"Stan has done a magnificent job at this club."
Brockie went on to express his delight at being afforded the opportunity to turn out for the current Telkom Knockout champions.
"SuperSport is an ambitious club, they want to win things and I'm happy to be here," he stated.
