Johannesburg - Under pressure Mamelodi Sundown coach Johan Neeskens is ready to leave the club if the board decides to fire him.
“It’s ok if another coach is coming," Neeskens said after their 2-1 Premiership defeat to Maritzburg United in Atteridgeville on Sunday.
"It’s up to the club board to decide if I will stay or not.
"I want to continue because I want to fight, but I cannot do it alone. ”
The Brazilians have had a poor start to the new season, conceding 11 goals in six matches.
They are in 11th spot in the league table after collecting only three points from as many matches.
“I am frustrated and so are the fans, but it’s normal in football," Neeskens said.
"We need to work together to get out of this situation.
"The players also need to start to take responsibility on the field."
United coach Ernst Middendorp was delighted with their win after Delron Buckley scored a brace, bumping them up to second position in the standings.
“I thought we were going to give away this game in the first half," Middendorp said.
"But the boys came to the second half and played good football. I am happy with the win.”
Elsewhere on Sunday, Black Leopards and Premiership newcomers Chippa United settled for a goalless draw in Polokwane.
On Saturday, Kaizer Chiefs were held to a 0-0 stalemate by Free State Stars in Phuthaditjhaba, but Amakhosi managed to retain top spot in the table, ahead of Maritzburg and Stars on goal difference.
Moroka Swallows secured an emphatic victory, crushing title holders Orlando Pirates 3-0 in Soweto.
Newly promoted University of Pretoria remained unbeaten, earning a goalless draw against neighbours SuperSport United at Tuks Stadium.
Wits bagged a 2-0 win over Bloemfontein Celtic at Bidvest Stadium, and Amazulu earned their first point of the new campaign with a 0-0 draw against KwaZulu-Natal rivals Golden Arrows in Durban.
On Friday, Ajax Cape Town thumped Platinum Stars 4-1 at Cape Town Stadium.
