Pirates are a 'wounded' lion

Johannesburg - Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Robert Nauseb, says Orlando Pirates will come out like a wounded lion against Amakhosi at FNB Stadium.

According to the Soccer-Laduma website, Nauseb joined Chiefs back in 1997, and spent five years at the club where in that time, he played in a couple of derby games.

Chiefs have been on an impressive winning run and come off a 3-0 win over Mozambican side, Liga Muculmana, in the Caf Champions League, while the Buccaneers are experiencing a dip in form, with the 1-0 to University of Pretoria on the weekend their latest setback.

However, the former Namibian international says Pirates cannot be taken lightly and the derby game is a different occasion altogether.

“Chiefs are doing very well at the moment. They are playing well and scoring goals. The only thing is that you don’t want to play Pirates when they are wounded. They will come out firing and derbies are always a different ball game. You can't say because Chiefs have been winning and Pirates haven't been doing well, that Chiefs will win. I’d say it’s going to be a draw, but it will be an exciting game because there’ll be a former Chiefs coach on the Pirates bench,” he said.
