Naicker happy with a point

Rustenburg - Jomo Cosmos goalkeeper Sherwin Naicker admits his team-mates had to dig deep to get their deserved point following their goalless stalemate against Kaizer Chiefs.

Ezinkosi and Amakhosi shared the spoils in an exciting clash played at the Olen Park Stadium on Tuesday, much to the delights of the KwaZulu-Natal shot stopper.

The 24-year-old 'keeper hinted that their game plan was to keep the Phefeni Glamour Boys at bay so that they could come out with at least a point against the Absa Premiership reigning champions.

“It was a very tough game for us," insisted Naicker.

“We had to dig deeper and deeper for a point and we got it. We knew that they will come at us from the beginning of the game until the end.

“But we managed to keep them at bay because we told ourselves that if we manage to keep a clean sheet then we might get something out of the game.

“At least we got a point in the end, and that’s crucial for us.”

Cosmos will be looking to register their first victory of the season when they face the inform Bidvest Wits on Tuesday, October 27.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
