Myeni, Manyisa injury update

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates have received a welcome boost with the news winger Sifiso Myeni's leg injury is not as bad as was initially thought.

The Buccaneers were sweating over the news of Myeni's injury, with the initial prognosis being the winger had suffered a fractured leg.

However, under-fire Bucs coach Eric Tinkler has since moved to allay fears over the severity of the injury.

"We got the good news that Sifiso Myeni didn't fracture his leg," said Tinkler.

Myeni was injured after being on the receiving end of a clumsy challenge from Bidvest Wits' Thulani Hlatshwayo, who was subsequently shown a red card for his troubles.

Meanwhile, Tinkler also revealed some further good news on the injury front, relating to captain Oupa Manyisa and goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo.

He added: "Oupa is now able to bend his knee, so that's positive. Brighton [Mhlongo] is also recovering well and working with the physios."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
