Musona 'too expensive'

Johannesburg - Knowledge Musona was too expensive for Kaizer Chiefs, who wanted the player on a one-year deal, the player's agent has confirmed.

According to Soccer Laduma, the player's representative has revealed that the weakened rand played a vital part in Chief's failed bid to bring Knowledge Musona back to South Africa.

“When Chiefs added up what it would cost them for the one year loan and the option to buy, it became way too expensive for them in their eyes,” said the player's agent, Mike Makaab.

Makaab admits that with the Rand dropping in the market upped Musona’s price which meant Kaizer Chiefs were unable to afford a deal for Musona .

After failing to seal a move to Dutch Eredivisie side FC Twente, the player has decided to fight for his place in the Hoffenhein side. Should Musona not have gained the adequate playing time in Germany by the end of the year, then a deal with Chiefs could yet be struck.

Musona's absence has been a blessing in disguise for the Glamour Boys with Mandla Masango, in particular, benefiting from the collapsed deal.
