Mulenga will get better - Davids

Johannesburg - Bloemfontein Celtic assistant coach Fadlu Davids believes Zambia international Mukuka Mulenga will shine at Phunya Sele Sele.

Mulenga joined the Bloemfontein outfit on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns, along with Musa Nyatama as they both were looking for regular game-time.

The Chipolopolo midfielder was making his first start in the famous green and white against SuperSport United on Saturday, September 27 and he impressed Davids with his versatility.

"He (Mulenga) did pre-season with Sundowns, but is not really match-fit," Davids said, speaking after his side's 3-0 defeat.

"But he has a lot of potential and is a very flexible type of player who can play in different positions.

"Today (Saturday) we used him in midfield but he can be used upfront as well. He will definitely get match-fit and adjust to our style of play and get better and better."

The Zambian has yet to settle in the PSL since making the switch from Power Dynamos last year. He spent the whole of last season on the sidelines because of injury.

Celtics loss to Matsatsansta leaves them in 14 position with six points to show from seven Absa Premiership games.

Their next PSL fixture is against Polokwane City on Sunday, October 19 at 15:30.
