Cape Town - Interim AmaZulu coach Wilfred Mugeyi could see his brief stint at the helm of the Premiership club soon come to an end.
Marketing manager, Lunga Sokhela, admits that the club are in the process of interviewing candidates for the position of head coach following the sacking of Craig Rosslee last month.
The Durban club are currently bottom of the table after a catastrophic start, which has yet to see them win a game this season.
"At the moment Wilfred is in charge," Sokhela said. "If he does well then the directors may give him a chance at the job."
But Sokhela admitted they are lining up someone to take charge on a permanent basis should the Mugeyi experiment backfire.
"We need the right guy to lead the team," he explained. "We need someone with a strategy that can take the team forward."
Sokhela says there has been healthy interest in the vacancy.
He added: "A lot of people have expressed interest in the job. It is something the directors are looking at. We cannot rush into a decision."
