Mthembu wary of Cosmos

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs striker Siphelele Mthembu is wary of the threat posed by Jomo Cosmos, despite the newly-promoted outfit languishing at the wrong end of the table.

Despite their lowly position, Mthembu fully expects Jomo Sono's men to give their all against the Soweto giants at Olen Park on Tuesday evening.

"It's tricky. All teams raise the bar when they are playing against Chiefs. You can watch their games, but you can't judge them on games they play against us," Mthembu told Soccer Laduma.

"You know, when they play Chiefs, they raise the bar and it's a different ball game altogether.

"They want to perform better than their last game, so almost all of the teams are strong. It just depends on what team or game they are playing."

Chiefs recorded a 3-0 victory over Platinum Stars in their most recent Premiership fixture, prior to the international break, while Cosmos eliminated from the Telkom Knockout following a 2-1 defeat to Maritzburg United.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
