Johannesburg - Following his disappearance from the club training grounds in Chloorkop last week, Mamelodi Sundowns' unsettled striker Katlego Mphela has returned to the club.
Mphela was left out of the Brazilians squad currently participating in a four-team tournament in Zambia.
According to kickoff.com, “Killer” returned to hold talks with the club and not to train as he is likely to part ways with the five-time PSL champions.
Mphela has already penned pre-contract with current PSL champions Kaizer Chiefs during the January transfer window, in what is believed to be a three-year deal.
However, the North West-born forward now desires to join the Phefeni Glamour Boys sooner than 1 July, the date his contract with them is set to kick in.
A source close to the Sundowns camp, currently in Zambia with the club, has confirmed that Mphela has already kicked his last ball in anger for the Brazilians.
He added that Mphela’s inclusion to the club will destabilise their camp.
Should Killer's desired deal with Chiefs materialise at a sooner stage, he will be in line to make his debut for his new club against his former employers on 23 January.
Mphela joined Mamelodi Sundowns from SuperSport United before the beginning of the 2008/09 season.
