During the past season, specifically in January this year, 'Killer' went on a walkabout for over a month in protest after Sundowns rejected an offer of R12.4 million from Serbian side Partizan Belgrade after the World Cup.
Mphela eventually smoked a peace pipe with Sundowns' top brass and the club's boss Patrice Motsepe made a commitment in a meeting that the striker would be allowed to leave if an acceptable offer comes through.
The Bafana Bafana striker has now revealed to Football365.co.za that there have been no concrete offers put on the table, but he is confident he will leave.
"The president of the club has given me the green light that if something comes through I will be allowed to leave. My dream or ambition has always been to go overseas and I'm still looking forward to that," he said.
"I have been speaking to my manager (Glyn Binkin) lately and nothing concrete has come through but he did tell me that some people have spoken to him about their club's interest, but like I say it is not something concrete.
"We still have four or five weeks before the league starts again in Europe and there is still time for me to make a move.
Mphela, though, admits he is worried about his performance against Egypt the past weekend saying it could not have impressed the scouts.
"We played well as a team, but not so much as individuals so hopefully the scouts will understand that it was just a tough game out there," he added.
In the meantime, Mphela is delighted with Bafana's progress in the African Nations Cup qualifiers for the 2012 tournament after hanging on to top stop in Group G.
"The aim is to finish on top of our group and the way we are going at the moment I think we can reach the semi-finals at least in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea," he concluded.
