Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns captain Ramahlwe Mphahlele has called on the club's supporters to throw their full weight behind the team as the Brazilians attempt to build momentum in the Premiership.
Sundowns have not had the best of starts in 2015/16, with two losses, a win and draw in the league so far, leaving them 10th in the standings and already five points off the pace at the top.
Against league leaders and newly-crowned MTN8 champions Ajax Cape Town on Wednesday, Sundowns will be looking to avoid a third consecutive loss at the Lucas Moripe Stadium, and Mphahlele knows their fans can make a big difference on the day.
"It is when you are going through a difficult time that you need supporters more. We need them to help the team to get over the hump, and get out of the slump in which the team finds itself," Mphahlele said on the club's website.
"I can assure them that we will continue to give everything we can to get results for the team and for the fans.
"It is important to play to your strength and this is what I have always done.
"We are a team and there are other players who will play the going forward role, but that does not mean there will be a weakness as a result. It is still early in the season, and things will gel soon."
