According to KickOff, Mpeta admits that although it was a tough choice he unveils that there was a lot of thought that went into it.

“I think for my decision there was a lot of benefit to join SuperSport United because if you look at Pirates and Sundowns, they have a lot of good players in that position,” said Mpeta.

"At SuperSport there is only Khumalo so I might get a chance to play, so I look at those things and to state it clear... there were lot of things that took place.”

The defender also reveals that his former club Platinum Stars was his initial first choice but he ‘fell in love with SuperSport.’

"My former team is a good team. They have quality players and very experienced and I think they will do well. However, I want to thank them for what they have done for me and I really appreciate it."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
