According to Chiefs’ Facebook page, Motaung has given the Proteas a message of his support and advice as they look to claim glory in Australasia.

"The journey you have just undertaken is more than a game or tournament. It is not just about YOU and the Proteas. It’s about your country. You are standing on the shoulders of more than fifty million of your fellow South Africans. As such you are faced with THE MOMENT OF GLORY as the world is watching," said Motaung.

“To be truly successful in this campaign you have to give more than your best. Sometimes even that’s not good enough. It’s about getting up every time and turning disappointment into determination, turning shortcomings into stepping-stones. It’s all about GLORY and how bad you need it. Never forget what you came here for. You came here to achieve the highest levels of GLORY, for your families, your fans and for YOU. This is your MOMENT OF GLORY and let it be for the Proteas. GOD bless you all and continue to INSPIRE GREATNESS."

Meanwhile, Chiefs are in Botswana preparing to face Township Rollers in the CAF Champions League on Saturday, February 28.

The first leg Chiefs narrowly beat Rollers 2-1 at FNB Stadium.

Kick-off is at 15:00.

The Proteas are also currently in action in Australia against West Indies and have notched up a score of 408 for 5 wickets.
